about
Marlborough is the debut single for Tom Walters. The song was first demoed in February at ‘One Flight Up Studios’ in St Peters along with a handful of other tracks. In April, Walters was back in the studio to start tracking Marlborough for single release. The song was produced by head engineer Adam Barns at ‘One Flight Up’. Walters also enlisted the help of ‘Stormbird’ drummer Nedad Teofilovic as a session player during the recording process. The recording was completed in early May with additional vocals, guitars, synths, and percussion laid down to fill out the track. The weeks ahead saw the song go through its mixing process to finally be completed on the 20th of May 2017.
lyrics
Say you'll love me, say you'll drug me
Marlborough you're my home
Here you found me, swear you'll drown me
Marlborough you're my home
Breathe in with me, and reveal me
Ashes you're my home
Say you'll burn me, dance and turn me
Whiskey you're my home
Looking for a reason to stay
Sober for the rest of the day
Until she calls and says we've lost our way
I guess this is the bed thatI've made
Medicated, one star rated
Trying to find a home
Bleak erotics, cheap narcotics
Help me find a home
Looking for a reason to stay
Sober for the rest of the day
Until she calls and says we've lost our way
I guess this is the bed that I've made
Help me down...
